Rosalynn Eads

I was raised in a very loving family. My parents were in love with each other, and loved me. I was taken to Sunday school as an infant, and attended regularly. I was told the stories of Jesus and the Bible. I was told of heaven and hell. As my father was Jewish. I also attended Synagogue School, when we lived near one, where I learned about a patient and caring God, as well as a God that could discipline, I was a child that tried to please, as I was a first born. I’m sure that I was a child that tried everything most children do. I was whiny and tearful, because I could get my way. At 8 or 9, I began to listen with more understanding of what Jesus did for me; and was convicted that I was a sinner. I did not want to go to Hell. I prayed to receive Jesus into my heart. I understood that was the benefit of knowing Jesus.

My Daddy challenged me to be the best Christian he knew. His admonition encouraged me to become diligent in getting to know Christ better, with Bible reading and memorization, and learning activities at the church we were attending. This discipline helped me to know of the many benefits of being a Christian: how to depend on Him, how to pray, how, and how to study the Bible. Consequently, I learned of the Holy Spirit who indwells me, and the constant access to the Father. I finally understood what Christ crucifixion meant; and that He would have done it just for me. I learned I was not condemned, because when God looks at me He saw Christ’s righteousness.

My walk has had many trials, but Christ, through His Holy Spirit, has always reminded me of Who is in control—He is the blessed controller of all things—and I can rest in Him.
